Tweeking

Fitting new ball joints to ensure suspension is at its best.

Today was an awfully hot day but this is how we proceed to change the ball joint.

This is where the ball joint is located.Pretty tricky job for a novice.

Now that the ball joint has been change the front wheels will be aligned.

Based on my observation so far the car should be moved at 4000rpm. Once the engine reaches 7200rpm it must be shifted quickly to asvoid the RPM dropping under 5000rpm.Once this is done there are very few cars in Bim that will hang with it on the street

This goes out to Ricky Juice who really think an Integra Type are can beat a modified Glanza. This is what happend when the car is moved properly in first gear

Although this is a good run I still think I need some practice. Had a slight bog during the move off. The times below shows a marked improvement in the quarter. I have found that these tyres only spin in first gear.

The gtech show that the acceleration has increased to 0.58gs Which is an indication of the torque. The ball bearing turbo helps by achieving full boost by 4500rpm.Keeping the revs above 5000rpm really makes a lot of since. You are guarantee over 15psi at the start of second gear. This run was done with pump gas an Nos racing octane booster with timing retarded three degrees and running 17psi and AFRS in the high elevens with NGK BK6ER plugs. Is a 13.5 possible? This was mid day pull.

Certificate of Performance

The set of test certify the performance of the modications done to the vehicle. All testing was done on a rototest dyno which is very accurate. Test were done with the long runners followed by the short runners.A mix of pump gas and VP racing 109 fuel was used. The turbo produced 18psi at 7100rpm.

A spot was secured on the Dyno after beggging and pleading to mark Hinkson. Anderson Herman is the Dyno Operator assisted by Fabian. The type of test used is a 8 second sweep test.Inlet temperatures as indicated by the emanage ultimate was 40 degrees celcius.

Most of the time was spent actually trying to hook the car up to the dyno. The next step was getting the PRM set correct onthe dyno. The RPM indicated by the Ultimate was used instead of the tachometer.

During the first pull the owner of the car started to freak out as he saw the engine moving. It scared all of us.The next pull was with the long runners followed by the short runners

The short runners produced 184.5kw or 247hp horse power at the wheels. The long runners produced 170kw or 227hp It is very important to notice that the long runners produce much more power than the short runners under 5500rpm.So those of you who have welded you runners so that the short runners are open you ar loosing a lot of power .

The above shows the short runners in action showing both torque and power. The gt28rs starts to kick in after 4000rpm and kicks in hard and quickly.

The above shows the long runners torque and power. Power peaks at 170kw or 227HP.Note the torque dropping rapidly after 5000rpm

The above shows the long runners torque and power overlayed with the short runners torque and power. This proves that there is power to be had by switching between long and short runners. Significant power as well.

184.5 Kw or 247 Hp at the wheels is a lot of power.

Log file for the short runners.Air temperatures are fine .VP race fuel stop the computer from retarding ignition timing.Note the NCVS is HI meanng that the short runners are on

Log file for the short runners.Air temperatures are fine .VP race fuel stop the computer from retarding ignition timing.Note the NCVS is LO meanng that the long short runners are on.Duty Cylce is Maxed out . 330cc Injectors are at their wits end

It is clear that Toyota built a lot of safety in the standard ECU. The sligghest signs of know it will retard timing. The VP race fuel Allowed the computer to run lot of timing and hence the huge amount of power

This vehicle is a white starlet gi. With forged rods and pistons. 20valve individual throtle bodies,550cc injectors. It uses a 550hp ball bearing turbo with ## a/r exhaust stage # wheel and ## compressor.

The setup is controlled by a microtech LT8. 3inch exhaust and intake piping ensure that air enters and leaves the engine quickly.

The car first made 268whp at 15psi. The dyno was used to adjust the cam gear to stop power from falling off at high rpm. To ensure good breathing at high rpm %%%% degree duration cams were used.

At this horsepower level the standard ignition system is being challenge.Plug gap has to be closed to avoid the spark blowing out.
